How is the cost of my care determined?
It is determined individually, after a physician has assessed your case. What is measured, how often it is repeated and what follows depend on your history, your symptoms, the results you already hold and what a measurement is expected to change. Two people who describe similar concerns can require very different work, so a figure stated before that assessment would not describe your care.
What is a written quotation and when do I receive it?
After the assessment, the physician sets out in writing what is proposed and what it costs. It is issued to you personally, before anything is arranged, and it is the only statement of cost that applies to your case. Nothing is arranged and nothing is payable until you have read it and agreed to it.
How is VAT treated?
The VAT treatment is stated on the quotation itself, item by item, so that the amount you read is the amount that applies. Medical services in Greece are treated differently from non-medical items, and the quotation states which treatment applies to each line rather than leaving it to be assumed.
Do I pay anything before the assessment?
No fee is payable before assessment. If the physician concludes that what you are asking for is not clinically appropriate, that is said plainly and nothing is arranged.
What if the plan changes later?
If the clinical picture changes, or you ask for something different, a fresh written quotation is issued rather than an informal adjustment to the previous one. Each quotation states the period for which it is valid.
